SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – For this week’s Wild Wednesday, Baylee went to the Great Plains Zoo to talk with GPZ Education Specialist Katie Carchedi about black bears!
“So we have two black bears here at the Great Plains Zoo, Jenny and Marshmallow. They are a mother-daughter pair, and they are actually reformed nuisance bears. They were in a National park, bothering guests for their picnic baskets essentially,” said Carchedi.
Jenny and Marshmallow are not strictly black in color. They are more of a deep brown, and marshmallow even gets more blond-colored patches on her back in the summer…
