At least four people in Salem were detained on Dec. 1 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to the Salem-based youth-led organization Latinos Unidos Siempre and Oregon For All.
Immigration enforcement in Oregon has continued to increase across the state. The Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition said November closed with 373 reported detentions in the state. The number is almost certainly an undercount, as some arrests go unreported to the nonprofit organization. The organization records information through its hotline.
