A pair of newlyweds was killed after crashing into a jackknifed vehicle on the way back from their honeymoon.

On Nov. 25, William Micah Carter, 25, and Jennifer Lynn Lower, 24, were involved in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 20 in Deschutes County, according to the Oregon State Police.

Once first responders arrived at the scene, preliminary investigations suggested that a commercial motor vehicle and trailer operated by Rajinder Kumar, 32, was stopped in a jackknifed position, blocking both lanes of travel.

Carter, who was operating a westbound Subaru Outback, struck the trailer at highway speeds around 9:30 p.m. as it was stopped perpendicular to the direction of traffic…
