Miley Cyrus Trading Wrecking Balls for Wedding Bells: Engaged to Maxx Morando
Looks like Miley Cyrus is ready to say “I do!” The “Flowers” singer is reportedly engaged to her boyfriend of nearly four years, Maxx Morando. Cyrus shared that she’s been “astounded” by the couple’s ability to maintain their privacy throughout their newly engaged bliss.
“The detail that I can share is that, for us, our privacy and us kind of keeping it small has been something that I’ve been astounded that I’ve actually been able to have and being able to kind of have more choice,” Cyrus told People magazine. She added that being older has also made her “more protective of what I’m open to sharing.”
Cyrus and the Liily drummer were first spotted together in late 2021 at a Gucci event, and they’ve largely kept their romance under wraps ever since. Morando was by Cyrus’s side at the 2024 Grammy Awards, where she snagged the Record of the Year award for her hit “Flowers.”
A source close to the couple told People that Cyrus is “very happy with him.” The insider noted, “Miley has changed a lot in the past couple of years.
She seems more calm and harmonious. Everyone loves Maxx.
He’s a great guy. He’s private and doesn’t like being in the press.
It’s been good for her.”
Their love story began with a unique twist: a blind date. “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him,” Cyrus revealed to British Vogue in 2023. She recalled thinking, “The worst that can happen is I leave.”
The former “Hannah Montana” star believes their relationship thrives because they both “just don’t take life too seriously.” Despite a six-year age gap, Cyrus appreciates Morando’s fresh perspective. She shared with Harper’s Bazaar that he “looks at life really differently than I do.”
“He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters,” she explained.
“Honestly, he’s raised our dog off Reddit. I’m like, ‘Are you sure we’re supposed to be doing this?’
And he’s like, ‘On Reddit it says blah, blah, blah.'”
This marks Cyrus’s second engagement; she was previously married to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth for less than a year, with their divorce finalized in early 2020.
