Yankee Candle Is Closing 20 Stores

The brand operates a dozen Virginia locations, including four in NoVA.

Yankee Candle fans should stock up now. Parent company Newell Brands announced on December 1 that it plans to close approximately 20 stores in the U.S. and Canada next month.

The brand currently operates 12 stand-alone stores in Virginia. Four of these are in NoVA, in Leesburg, Potomac Mills, Gainesville, and Fredericksburg. The company has not yet stated which stores will be affected.

In addition to Yankee Candle, Newell also owns more than 50 brands. These include Graco, Coleman, Oster, Rubbermaid, Sunbeam, Sharpie, and Elmer’s. It says the Yankee Candle store closures represent roughly 1 percent of its sales…
