FISHERS, Ind. — A late-night shooting inside a well-known Fishers bar left a 30-year-old man dead early Monday, prompting a homicide investigation and the arrest of a 31-year-old suspect who remained at the scene when officers arrived.
Fishers police were called to Britton Tavern around 2:45 a.m. on December 1 after reports of gunfire inside the establishment located near State Road 37 and East 141st Street. When officers entered the bar, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Medics attempted emergency lifesaving treatment, but the victim died at the scene.
What Investigators Found Inside the Bar
According to Sgt. Angela Ellison with the Fishers Police Department, officers quickly located a 31-year-old man believed to be responsible for the shooting. He was taken into custody and arrested on a preliminary charge of murder. Police say the suspect never left the bar after the incident, allowing officers to secure the situation rapidly.
