Repeat offender found guilty in federal drug trafficking case; faces up to 30 years in prison

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — A Columbus man was found guilty of drug trafficking as a result from Operation Sweet Silence, a multi-agency law enforcement operation that included the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office.

Marquez Holloway, aka “Glizzy,” 32, was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine and more than 50 kilograms of marijuana following a two-day trial that began on Dec. 1, before U.S. District Judge Clay Land.

Evidence presented at trial came from the Operation Sweet Silence, which was conducted from Aug. 2022 until May 2024. Agents say they discovered Holloway was working with others to take control of the illegal drug market in Columbus by supplying “exceptionally high-grade marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine” from California…
