CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne is traveling to Washington this week to meet with lawmakers about closing Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport and converting it to public lakefront access.
The push comes as Ronayne also warns of potential traffic chaos at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport when the Browns move to their new Brook Park stadium.

Ronayne said he and the city’s mayor are continuing the push to turn Burke Airport into public lakefront access, believing the county can handle aviation needs elsewhere.
“You can have your cake and eat it too as it relates to aviation service and public access,” Ronayne said. “People want to be around the water, and I think it gives us an opportunity to do that.”…
