FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Plans have been altered for an ongoing project that aims to transform a property north of downtown Fort Wayne.
Riverfront Phase IIB, plans for which would bring outdoor attractions along the north bank of the St. Marys River, will no longer include the proposed tree canopy trail addition and public docks, the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department announced Wednesday.
The department cited “recently redefined permit conditions set forth by various state and federal agencies” as the reason for the cuts, explaining the move has to do with the floodway adhering to a “no-rise” requirement so that the base flood elevation doesn’t rise within the project area…
