Honduras man in US illegally sentenced after arrest in Alachua County

A 35-year-old Honduras man arrested on felony battery charges in Alachua County in 2024, has been sentenced to three and a half years in federal prison after previously pleading guilty to illegal reentry by a deported alien.

Noe Alexander Flores Vasquez, according to a Dec. 2 news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, was previously removed and deported from the United States on three separate occasions. Prior to one of his removals, Vasquez was separately convicted of a felony involving a battery on an officer, firefighter, or medical provider.

“This violent illegal alien has repeatedly violated our federal laws and threatened public safety while unlawfully present in our country, and now he’ll spend his days in federal prison,” said U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin in a news release…
