(WSPA) – Heavy rain and some wintry mix will be moving in to the Upstate of South Carolina and western North Carolina late Thursday into Friday.
Snow and freezing rain are possible in parts of North Carolina including Henderson, Polk, Buncombe and Rutherford counties in addition to the high mountain counties of Yancy, Mitchell, Madison, and Swain.
The biggest concern for those areas will be icy mountain roads Friday morning before the wintry precipitation turns to rain.
