Judge to decide next steps for homeless encampment next week while advocates warn of cold weather dangers

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A court hearing to determine the future of a Lansing homeless encampment has been postponed until next week, as its residents brace for worsening winter weather conditions.

The hearing was scheduled for today but was rescheduled for Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Courthouse in Lansing.

Attorneys involved with the case said the delay would allow them to address multiple issues surrounding the encampment at once…
