Woman arrested in fatal downtown Austin shooting

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A 34-year-old woman charged with fatally shooting a man in downtown Austin in November was arrested Monday in Spring, Texas.

Kimberly Sotelo, 34, is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the Nov. 12 shooting death of 50-year-old Gared Goff near the intersection of East Fifth and Trinity Street. She was booked into the Montgomery County Jail following her arrest.

Court records do not yet list an attorney who could speak on her behalf. KXAN will update this story once that information is available.

Court records said police were called to the scene on the morning of Nov. 12 after reports of a shooting and found Goff with a gunshot wound to the head in the 400 block of Trinity Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene about 20 minutes later…
