EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Border Network for Human Rights (BNHR), alongside other advocacy groups, will host a peaceful event on Wednesday, Dec. 3, ahead of “border czar” Tom Homan’s visit to the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
Protest, controversy to greet Homan visit to UTEP
The people’s accountability assembly on institutional violence and constitutional and human rights, which will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at UTEP Leech Grove, will feature community members’ testimonies on the harms caused by the Trump administration’s mass deportation policies, the militarization of the border, and the ongoing assaults on constitutional and human rights, according to BNHR.
This event is non-partisan and community-led, centering the voices and lived experiences of border residents, BNHR added.
