JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – A former Jackson area radio host and Facebook personality is appealing his murder conviction.
William Ervin Edwards, also known as “Polo” and “The Cipher Voice,” was sentenced to life in prison last December for killing Robert Davis. Now, he claims his Sixth Amendment right to counsel was violated by Hinds County Circuit Judge Faye Peterson.
Edwards argues that the court dismissed his attorney Brandon Dorsey a week before trial, leaving him unprepared. But court records show Edwards himself asked to remove his attorney two weeks before a jury would decide his fate, and Peterson simply approved his motion…
