Bridgeview Elementary Closed Today Due to Nearby Police Activity
Bridgeview Elementary School has canceled classes today following a developing law-enforcement situation in a nearby neighborhood. District officials say the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of all students and staff while police manage an active incident close to the school grounds.
According to the district’s announcement, the closure impacts only Bridgeview Elementary students, and families should expect no classes or on-site activities throughout the day. Y-Care, the school’s before- and after-school childcare program, is also closed as part of the safety measures. Administrators noted that maintaining a secure environment and avoiding disruptions to ongoing police operations were the top priorities in making the call.
