Freeport businesses get state grants to boost jobs and growth

Three Freeport businesses have been awarded grants from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity to support infrastructure improvements and business growth.

Pierce Athletics, Fitness Lifestyles and Stooptown Revival were among 47 recipients of the Small Business Capital and Infrastructure grants, according to a community announcement.

The grants are part of a $10 million initiative launched in Spring 2025 to help businesses create and retain jobs, improve efficiencies and boost local economies.
