DENVER (KDVR) — While responding to a crash on Interstate 25, Lone Tree police made a discovery that led to the arrest of a person on multiple criminal charges, according to a social media post from the Lone Tree government.
On Nov. 29, around 6 a.m., Lone Tree police responded to a report of a multi-vehicle crash on northbound I-25, after a truck reportedly lost control and sparked a chain reaction.

While helping the occupants of the vehicles, the officers noticed that there was mail on the ground around the vehicle. Police discovered the mail did not belong to the driver associated with the vehicle, and later learned that the mail was stolen from a damaged community mailbox.
The police also discovered several financial devices and an ID belonging to another person. As well as multiple controlled substances, which were tested and determined to be 5.5 grams of methamphetamine and 3.7 grams of other drugs.
The driver now faces charges, including:
- Felony criminal possession of three financial devices
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Violation of a protection order
- Criminal possession of identification documentation
- Burglary
