Reno moves to ease childcare access by removing costly permit for in-home daycares

Opening a new childcare in Reno may soon get a little easier. The city is preparing to remove a major hurdle that has long slowed down the process for would-be providers.

Right now, anyone hoping to start an in-home daycare must apply for a minor conditional use permit. It costs more than four thousand dollars and takes about 30 days to complete. Soon, that requirement will be eliminated.
