The Phoenix Police Department is currently probing a convoluted and deadly incident involving two motorcyclists that transpired on the evening of November 28, near the I-17 overpass at 7th Avenue, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix. According to authorities, after what began as a motorcycle collision, one rider, identified as Job Martinez, shot and killed the other, named Scott Kikes. Directly following this, Martinez was struck by a car and succumbed to his injuries. The driver involved in the hit-and-run was located near the scene and was temporarily taken into custody but has since been released pending further investigation.
In a bewildering turn of events, Phoenix Police Sgt. Jen Zak said, “Very confusing scene. Detectives worked multiple hours to piece out what happened. Tragic and very concerning for our community as well,” as FOX 10 Phoenix outlined. The driver, who had witnessed Martin’s shooting Kikes, struck the shooter almost immediately afterward. Investigators are yet to ascertain whether the driver was an unrelated bystander or had some involvement in the dispute that led to the fatal shootings.
