Tara Reid Stands Firm on Drugging Claim Despite Police Finding No Evidence
Chicago, IL – Actress Tara Reid is adamant she was drugged at a Chicago hotel bar last week, even as police conclude their initial investigation with no evidence to support her claims. The “American Pie” star described the experience as “horrifying” and the “scariest” of her life, saying it has severely impacted her mental health.
The Rosemont Public Safety Department, which is still actively investigating the Nov. 23 incident, stated they have reviewed hotel surveillance footage and conducted multiple interviews. “While video surveillance showed Tara Reid at the hotel bar, at no time did video show anyone tampering with or adding something to her drink,” a spokesperson confirmed. They also noted that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar, a standard practice.
However, Reid is not convinced by the police findings. In a statement, she countered, “Bottom line is no one ends up in the hospital incapacitated for over 8 hours after a drink.
Last thing I remember is having one drink and waking up in the hospital the next day without remembering anything. That was the scariest feeling I have ever felt.
I felt so helpless.”
She added, “This has been a horrifying experience for me that is severely affecting my mental health. I cannot sleep over this.
It’s a very scary feeling not knowing what happened to me. I believe I was drugged.
Something happened to me.”
Last week, video footage captured Reid, who was in Chicago for Comic Con, appearing disoriented. She was seen being helped into a wheelchair, slurring her words, and clinging to a hotel guest before being seated. Another clip showed her being removed from the hotel on a stretcher by paramedics, with onlookers offering words of encouragement.
A source close to Reid previously indicated that she went to the hotel bar for a drink and a cigarette. After stepping outside, she returned to find a napkin covering her glass of wine, which she found unusual.
After taking two sips, the source said, she blacked out and woke up in the hospital. Her agent then picked her up, and they flew back to Los Angeles.
“She is very worried about people leaving their drinks unsupervised, and she is traumatized by the incident,” the source stated.
Reid filed a police report on Nov. 25, detailing her account. She recalled ordering white wine and meeting an “influencer and YouTuber” named Sean P. After stepping outside for a cigarette and exchanging numbers, Reid alleged that upon her return to the bar, “there was a napkin over my drink.”
“Then the last thing I remember was drinking that drink and seeing a couple sitting next to us. The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital around 8 hours or more later not knowing where I was or anything that happened. I completely blacked out with no recollection of anything,” she told police.
According to the report, the influencer she met allegedly “texted me the videos of me the next day,” which Reid perceived as an attempt at extortion, claiming he implied he “could stop the videos [from] going out.” Reid concluded her statement to police by asserting, “I am willing to prosecute.”
