Four people arrested following theft investigation, drug bust in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — Four Charlotte residents were arrested Monday after deputies say they were caught in the middle of a larceny at the Walmart on Cooper Creek Drive in Mocksville and later linked to a series of similar thefts across North Carolina.

According to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the store around 5:26 p.m. on Dec. 1 for a reported larceny in progress. When they arrived, Walmart staff provided descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle. Deputies found the vehicle in the parking lot, where two men were still loading merchandise into it.

The men — identified as Jacob Taylor Reid, 38, and Severiano Alonso Mata, 26, both of Charlotte — were detained at the scene. Deputies later located two additional suspects nearby: Tiffany Cornelius Reid, 41, and Alexandra Marie Soma, 31, also of Charlotte…
