Charleston County School District providing free resources for homeless families

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The Charleston County School District has partnered with a Lowcountry organization to help provide necessities to dozens of homeless families.

The district is working with the Community Resource Center to provide free clothing, supplies and essentials to 60 homeless families through a monthly shopping event.

The district serves families through the McKinney-Vento Act program, which provides protection and support for children experiencing homelessness. The free shop offers baby essentials including diapers, school supplies, clothing, groceries and healthcare items such as blood pressure machines…
