Charlottesville, VA – The National Weather Service in Baltimore/Washington has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for parts of central Virginia, including Albemarle, Nelson, Orange, and Spotsylvania Counties, from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

Forecasters expect a mix of snow and freezing drizzle, producing 1 to 2 inches of snow and a light glaze of ice. With temperatures in the 20s, snow is expected to stick quickly to untreated roads and sidewalks, making Friday morning travel hazardous
