Man on probation charged with 26 felonies after traffic stop

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Adasian Chiziere Armstrong, 20, was arrested early this morning after a deputy reportedly found an AR-style pistol and 21 rounds of ammunition in his backpack after a traffic stop; as a convicted felon, Armstrong is not legally permitted to possess a firearm.

At about 1:51 a.m. on December 3, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy saw Armstrong riding a scooter on SW 20th Avenue, wearing a full face mask. Based on the time of night and the face mask, the deputy attempted a traffic stop to dispel his suspicion that Armstrong was involved in illegal activity, but Armstrong allegedly refused to stop; after the deputy cut in front of him, Armstrong allegedly dismounted from the scooter and fled on foot…
