Woman facing drug charge after traffic stop in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — An Upstate woman was arrested for drug trafficking following a traffic stop in Anderson County.

Deputies from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sommer Shaw-Ricks, of Williamston, after reportedly discovering 42 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop in the Pelzer area.

The arrest occurred when deputies stopped Shaw-Ricks’ Mercedes-Benz after she ran a stop sign. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies found her pocketbook under the driver’s seat containing clear plastic baggies filled with a crystal-like substance and pills…
