Dave Cole Decorators Inc. has acquired a 118,000-square-foot former foundry in Sparta to handle work on the $175 million Amway Stadium project and meet surging demand for its steel coating services.
The commercial painter and steel coating firm plans to occupy a portion of the 118,000-square-foot facility located across the railroad tracks from its headquarters at 325 Martindale St. NW in Sparta. Automotive supplier Cascade Die Cast Group Inc. will continue to operate out of the other half of the building.
Renovating the facility’s interior will allow the company to house blasting and spray-coating operations for steel beams, primarily for the new $175 million Amway Stadium under construction in downtown Grand Rapids, said John Murphy, owner and president of Dave Cole Decorators…
