Knoxville man charged after deputies find fentanyl, cocaine while searching apartment

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville man is facing multiple charges after Knox County Sheriff’s deputies serving a search warrant at his apartment discovered more than a pound of cocaine and marijuana, along with other drugs including fentanyl early Tuesday morning, the sheriff’s office released.

According to KCSO, Thomas Fletcher, 34, is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm by a violent felon, possession of ammunition by a violent felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent felony.

A General Sessions Docket stated that deputies with KCSO’s narcotics unit and a SWAT team executed the search warrant at the apartment in the 2400 block of Linden Avenue around 6:30 a.m. The docket alleges that deputies found Fletcher in the living room of the home, where he was taken into custody.

During the search, the docket narrative explains that deputies seized more than a pound-and-three-quarters of cocaine, approximately a pound of marijuana, 45 grams of fentanyl, 7 grams of crack cocaine, 17 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and a variety of items that could be used to process or package drugs. The narrative adds that deputies seized a Springfield Armory .40 caliber handgun as well as $24,745 in cash.

The narrative adds that the apartment where the search was conducted is located within 1000 feet of two daycare facilities.

Court records state that Fletcher has previous convictions in Knox County of manufacture, sale or delivery with intent to distribute cocaine and marijuana and employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony from 2012…
