SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – One local business, known for its desserts, is making an effort to end child hunger.
River Street Sweets made a $22,000 donation to Kids Cafe, which provides afterschool meals and tutoring to local kids. The donation is equivalent to more than 100,000 meals.
“All of our stores and our franchised locations also participated. We did a round-up at the register that we kept going for like three or four months through Labor Day,” said Kelley Cale, River Streets Sweets Vice President of Marketing. “On Pralines Day in June we did a percentage of the praline sales, and we had customers, you’re right. They supported us from this community and all of our locations. It was just really great, they wanted to help.”…
