‘One of the largest suppliers of fentanyl’ in Hays County sentenced to 40 years

A 21-year-old Austin man who prosecutors described as “one of the largest suppliers of fentanyl in Hays County” was sentenced Tuesday to 40 years in prison, according to the Hays County District Attorney’s Office.

District Judge Bruce Boyer handed down the sentence to Izaac Elmore-Carson for delivery of fentanyl in a hearing Monday. Elmore-Carson also received a 20-year sentence for possession with intent to deliver heroin. He pleaded guilty in September to both charges under an agreement that allowed the judge to determine his sentence, within a range of 10 to 50 years.

During the sentencing hearing, prosecutors presented evidence that Elmore-Carson was involved in widespread drug activity, including trafficking firearms and illegal firearm switches, the DA’s office said.
