A new Brazilian steakhouse, called Santa Picanha, is coming soon to 406 Garfield Street in Downtown Lafayette.
The new restaurant will bring an authentic taste of Southern Brazil to Acadiana with a focus on charcoal-grilled Churrasco meats and traditional Gaúcho staples, all served in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
Santa Picanha is founded by Gustavo Rosenstengel, who was born in Porto Alegre in Southern Brazil and has been sharing the culinary taste and customs of his heritage since 2002. His passion for Churrasco began early, helping at family cookouts around the age of nine. After cooking through college and catering Brazilian-style barbecue events for more than a decade, Gustavo is now fulfilling his dream of creating a space where friends, family, and the Lafayette community can experience authentic Gaúcho cuisine and culture.
