CLARENDON HILLS, Ill. (WGN) — The DePasquale family was headed home from the airport on Monday, with a pizza delivery just minutes away. But what they stumbled upon as they pulled into the driveway of their southwest suburban home is a phenomenon that has plagued the Chicago area more than any other major U.S. city.
They witnessed a first-hand account of porch piracy.
“On the way home, I had ordered a pizza for dinner, and I’m thinking it’s the delivery guy for pizza,” Sarah DePasquale said. “He had a DoorDash bag, and my husband was like, ‘Oh my God, he’s taking all of our packages and stuffing them in the DoorDash bag!’ [Then] we quickly realized he’s going to take everything—he took all the packages.”…
