WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — Fire exploded through an apartment building as DC Fire and EMS Department crews battled the smoke and flames on Thursday.
Bright hues of yellow and orange engulfed the windows of the first floor of a two-story apartment building on Galveston Place, SW, which had quickly spread to the second floor.

Shortly after making entry, the windows, once completely covered in fire, were seen with heavy smoke, and crews worked to control the blaze.
