Buffalo: Snow and 40 MPH Wind Gusts Creating Dangerous Travel Across Lake Ontario Region

Buffalo, NY – The National Weather Service in Buffalo reports that Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect across much of Western and Central New York through Thursday evening, as strong lake effect snow bands continue to cause hazardous travel.

According to forecaster Brothers, additional snow accumulations of 1 to 4 inches are expected in the most persistent bands, with wind gusts up to 40 mph leading to blowing and drifting snow. The advisories cover counties including Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Southern Erie, Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis
