Valerie Mitchell of Force Detroit said she knew she and the other “violence interrupters” at Cody High School were making an impact when they recently left their posts at the school for just one week for trainings.
When they got back:
“We had the principal coming to us. We had kids coming to us, security guards. And everybody asking us, ‘Where have y’all been? We needed y’all,” she said…
