Today Could Be Coldest Day Of Winter In Western New York

Our Thursday here in Western New York will start off snowy and end very, very cold. A band of lake effect snow brought several inches of snow to parts of Western New York, but it looks like, as the day progresses, the snow band will move south and start to fall apart. Temperatures will continue to drop, and winds will pick up, causing wind chill issues for parts of the 716.

Coldest Day Of The Winter In Western New York

Today could end up being the coldest day of Winter so far, as winds will start to whip up today, dropping our wind chills into single digits. Wind speeds could also reach up to 30 miles per hour, which will help keep those wind chill temperatures in single digits.

Lake Effect Snow Pounds Western New York

A band of lake effect snow moved into the region late on Wednesday and continued through Thursday morning. Widespread snow dropped between 2-4 inches overnight, with several more inches expected for the Southtowns and Southern Tier this morning. A winter weather advisory is in place for Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties until 7 pm tonight…
