HAZEL GREEN, Ala. (WHNT) — Taps played, and flags waved while World War II veteran Harold Hueholt was laid to rest on Wednesday, after 101 years of life spent serving and loving others.
“He was always concerned about people. He was concerned that people were treated fairly and had what they needed to survive,” Harold’s son, Mike Hueholt, said.

Born in 1924, Harold survived the Great Depression and served in World War II at a young age. Due to the pain involved in the memories, his children said Harold would not frequently revisit those periods of his life.
“He would say, ‘Well, I was in this area.’ And, according to the experts, that was the front line,” Kris Boddicker, Harold’s daughter, said. “We know some men come back, and they just don’t talk about their experiences…Family has said that when he came back, he was a different person.”…
