A tragic end unfolded for Kyle Cole, a 26-year-old from New Port Richey, following a motorcycle crash on November 29, as reported by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. Cole, who was operating a reportedly stolen 2024 Suzuki motorcycle, fatally crashed on Knights Station Road in north Lakeland. The Polk Sheriff’s Office confirmed Cole had several active warrants for a series of charges, including aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
At approximately 8:00 p.m., witnesses claim Cole was tailgating another vehicle when he suddenly lost control, causing the bike to flip and eject him onto the road. A westbound Jeep Cherokee might have subsequently hit the motorcycle; however, the driver of the Jeep stopped and fully cooperated with law enforcement. Despite efforts by bystanders who attempted to accordingly administer CPR, Cole died from his injuries after being transported to the hospital. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
The active warrants for Cole were the result of two separate incidents. During the more recent encounter on November 21, Cole, while not the truck’s owner, was found behind the wheel of a vehicle with an associated active Hillsborough County warrant at a Circle K gas station.
