POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – In a 5-2 vote, the Polk County Planning Commission declined conditional use approval for a sand mine operation near Lake Wales, a project that had received a recommendation from county planners.
“We’re ecstatic. We’re going to have a free hot dog thing at Saddlebag tonight and everybody’s invited,” said Scott Siller, vice president of the Saddlebag Lake Owners Association.
