Attorney representing family of man killed in 2023 road rage shooting seeks dismissal of lawsuit filed by Weldon Boyd

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — The attorney representing the family of a man killed in a 2023 Horry County road rage shooting is seeking to dismiss the lawsuit filed against him by the man who pulled the trigger.

Mark Tinsley, who represents the family of Scott Spivey, filed the motion Wednesday in Horry County Common Pleas Court. It seeks a dismissal of Weldon Boyd’s lawsuit, which was filed Nov. 3.

Spivey, 33, of Tabor City, died in a Sept. 9 shooting along Camp Swamp Road in the Loris area. He was involved in an altercation with Kenneth Williams and Boyd, owner of the popular Buoy’s on the Boulevard…
