Khalid Turns Segundo Barrio Club Into Santa’s Workshop For Hueco Elementary Kids

Pop star Khalid dropped back into El Paso on Tuesday and turned the Boys & Girls Clubs flagship in Segundo Barrio into a full-on holiday celebration, personally handing out gifts to Hueco Elementary students. Around 600 children received wrapped presents as teachers and volunteers helped shepherd them through the festive chaos.

The giveaway, part of Khalid’s long-running “Christmas with Khalid” program, served roughly 600 Hueco Elementary students and was staged at the Boys & Girls Clubs flagship site in Segundo Barrio, with Khalid on hand to pass out the presents. Organizers said Charlie Clark Nissan stepped up as the principal sponsor and contributed $5,000 toward the gifts, while Socorro Independent School District buses brought students to the event, according to KTSM.

The distribution is part of The Great Khalid Foundation’s “Christmas with Khalid” initiative, a need-based program the foundation says has been returning to El Paso schools since 2017 to help keep “the spirit of Christmas alive” for children who might otherwise go without. The foundation’s site notes that elementary schools in the region may apply each fall to be considered for the program and that the 2025 application window is already open. Program details and background are outlined by The Great Khalid Foundation…
