Jackson residents concerned about water shutoff

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Several people, who live on Wood Street near Jaycee Park in Jackson, have experienced water shutoffs in recent days.

Jackson City Councilman Kenneth Stokes, Ward 3, said he received a call about the issue from a resident, who claimed she paid her bill every month. When she received her cutoff notice, she called JXN Water and was told she owed $4,000.

Ridgeland considers removing fluoride from drinking water

According to the resident, she was told that she would have to pay half of the amount in order to have her water reinstated.

Stokes asked the Jackson Fire Department (JFD) to provide people with water from the fire hydrants, so they would be able to flush their toilets…
