HOUSTON (CW39) — Drivers on the I-10 Katy Freeway should expect major delays starting today as several connector ramps, lanes, and frontage roads are now closed until further notice, according to TxDOT.
Here’s what’s impacted:
- I-10 eastbound connector ramp to I-45 North — TOTAL CLOSURE (starts today)Closed from 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4 until further notice.Drivers needing I-45 North must detour to the I-610 West Loop northbound and continue to the I-45 connector.
- I-10 eastbound and westbound (Heights Blvd to I-45 Gulf/Hogan St) — 1 lane alternating — CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICEThis includes alternating exit and entrance ramp closures.
- I-10 eastbound and westbound frontage roads (Studemont St to I-45 Gulf/Hogan St) — 1 lane alternating — CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICEExit and entrance ramps will also alternate closures.
- I-10 westbound (I-45 Gulf/Hogan St to Studemont St) — 2 outside lanes — CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICEThis reduction supports the White Oak Bayou elevation project and Studemont bridge demolition. Expect delays.
- I-10 westbound exit ramp to Taylor St — TOTAL CLOSURE UNTIL FURTHER NOTICEDrivers must continue on the main lanes, exit at Studemont, make a U-turn, and use the eastbound frontage road to reach Taylor St.
