Pet Resource Center to host free microchip event, open 24/7 chip scanning station

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Pet Resource Center of Kansas City (PRCKC), in partnership with the city, is hosting a free microchipping event this weekend – and is launching its free 24/7 chip-scanning station.

The event will take place on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at 5829 Troost Ave. in Kansas City, Missouri. The event will provide free microchips to the first 50 pets, offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

A valid ID will be required for the free microchips, since these chips are reserved exclusively for Kansas City, Missouri, residents and their pets. PRCKC said it can also microchip pets from outside the city for a fee…
