Tulsa Community College to Offer First Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development for Local Students

Tulsa Community College (TCC) has received approval from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education to offer its first bachelor’s degree. The Bachelor of Science in Child Development is planned to start in Fall 2026, pending final approval from the Higher Learning Commission. The program is designed to provide affordable education for students interested in working with children from birth through age five.

The degree will include stackable credentials that meet national standards. Students will complete fieldwork and practicum placements for practical experience. Courses will be offered both in person and online to increase accessibility. TCC President and CEO Leigh Goodson stated that the program aims to address the need for qualified early childhood educators in Oklahoma.
