‘Our family’s devastated’: Idaho family pushes for stricter DUI laws after losing two teens in crash

BOISE, Idaho — An Idaho family is calling for tougher drunk driving penalties after losing an 18-year-old woman and her boyfriend in a head-on crash caused by a wrong-way driver on Interstate 15.

Anneka Wilson and her boyfriend, Leo Shepherd, were killed on Nov. 29 while driving from Springfield, Utah, to Boise for a Thanksgiving family gathering. Utah Highway Patrol said a suspected drunk driver, Jose Jiminez, traveled about two miles southbound in the northbound lanes before striking the couple’s vehicle around 2 a.m.
