FRCC opening dental clinic to train students and provide low-cost care

Students at Front Range Community College will soon have the opportunity to learn while working with actual patients, and those patients will gain access to low-cost dental care.

FRCC’s Community Dental Clinic on its Larimer Campus in Fort Collins is truly a win-win for the college and the community it serves, said Nancy Sherrill, director of the school’s new dental hygiene program.

The clinic will open to the public on Jan. 20. It is located on the ground floor in the southwest corner of the Grays Peak Building on the Fort Collins campus, 4616 S. Shields St.

FRCC clinic has 16 stations for patient care

There are 16 stations for patient care — 10 for dental hygiene and six for dental assisting — in the clinic. Instructors and a full-time dentist employed by FRCC will oversee the students’ work and perform more complex procedures…
