The names of the driver and one passenger from a single vehicle fatal crash the morning of Nov. 29 in Lincoln County have been released by the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred 1 mile southeast of Hudson. The release states that a 2011 Ford F-250 was traveling northbound on 488th Ave. near 249th St. while pulling a 14-year-old male from Hudson on a snowbard. When the snowboarder fell, the driver, 18-year-old Teague Jacob Rus, of Rock Valley, Iowa, stopped and began to back up. The juvenile snowboarder fell out of the bed of the truck and was struck by the truck while backing up.
The driver and 19-year-old female passenger, Macey Leann Riggs, of Sioux Falls, then drove the injured snowboarder to the Haywarden Regional Hospital in Iowa, where he later died from his injuries. The juvenile’s name has not yet been released…
