Publix to open first downtown Columbia grocery in 20 years, boosting BullStreet District transformation

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The BullStreet District is set for another major milestone: Publix is officially moving in, marking the first grocery store to invest in downtown Columbia in more than two decades.

Hughes Development Corp. announced the project Tuesday, saying the addition of a full-service grocery store will accelerate BullStreet’s evolution and attract more restaurants and retailers to the area.
