Cumberland County Residents Reminded: Property Tax Payments Due by January 5, 2026

Cumberland County Tax Administration in Fayetteville, North Carolina, reminds property owners that taxes for real estate and personal property listed in January 2025 are due by Monday, January 5, 2026. Payments not received by this date will be considered delinquent. Interest and collection actions, such as bank levies, wage garnishments, or foreclosure, may begin on January 6, 2026. Additional fees and interest will apply to unpaid taxes after the deadline.

County government offices and courts will be closed from December 24 to December 26, 2025, for Christmas, and on January 1, 2026, for New Year’s Day. The final week of December is usually busy, and in-person wait times may be longer near the deadline.

Taxpayers can pay in person at the Tax Administration Office on the fifth floor of the Judge E. Maurice Braswell Cumberland County Courthouse, 117 Dick St., Fayetteville.
